New IS Standards for BIS-ISI Certification expected

On Dec. 20, 2022 the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) issued a Draft Quality Control Order announcing several IS standards that are expected to become effective in the coming months. The standards relate to the ISI Certification Scheme (Scheme I) of the BIS certification. BIS-ISI certification is required for many different product groups, such as electronics, household appliances, safety glass, etc.

4	Conduits & Fittings for Electrical Installations
5	Copper Products
6	Deepwell Handpumps & Components
7	Drums and Tins
8	Fire Extinguishers
9	Hand Tools
10	Hinges
11	Household and Similar Electrical Appliances
12	Laboratory Glassware
13	Solar DC Cable & Fire Survival Cable
14	Steel Wires/ Strands, Nylon/ Wire Ropes and Wire mesh
15	Valves and Taps
16	Welding Wires, Rods and Electrodes
